 Reference :-  How will the crisis in Ukraine end ? 

The situation in Ukraine is hard to assess.  Who is telling the truth ?  Who stands to win  from this supposed confrontation ?  (  Apart from the defense contractors who have just lost 250 million quid per day from their contracts in Afghanistan and need another war ) . 

There have been too many lies told , and exaggerations . And the media do love fermenting  war . 

Here at the Sky Reply we decided to have a day off , and chill about it all .  But it was hard to relax , because the neighbour has a penchant for trimming the fenceline endlessly with his two stroke weed eater , which disturbs the ambience of the morning .  

I spoke to Ken junior about it . 

" I thought you were going to shirtfront the neighbour and tell him where to jam his weed eater " , I said . 

 " No , I was never going to do that . " , Ken junior said . 

"  Oh yes you were . " , I said . 

 " That would only make things worse , I was never going to shirtfront him . "  , Ken junior said . 

 "  But you said you were going to . " , I said . 

"  I have never said I was going to shirtfront him . " , Ken junior said . 

" So are you going to ? " , I said . 

"  I never said I would , and no I am not . " , Ken junior said . 

"  So you have decided to back down then . " ,  I said . 

 " That's pretty gutless . " , Monte said . 

 " Yeah ...gutless . "   Gabbo said . 

 Everybody is quiet and sulky now . I think the sound of the weed eater has got on everybody's nerves .

Reference:- Andy Bolt referred to a joint statement by Vladmir Putin and Xi Jinping , saying that it unambiguously reveals their evil intentions .... like Hitler's " Mein Kampf " .  

 

Dear Andy , 

          It wasn't easy to find , but we have looked up that joint statement by Vladmir Putin and Xi Jinping  . It is a lengthy piece , and we have perused it several times but can't find the parts that remind you of Hitler's  " Mein Kampf " .    There is a bit in there about opposing holocaust denial and learning from the horror of two world wars .    And quite a lot about peace , cooperation , mutual trust , political stability , poverty reduction , climate action , respect for the United nations and the World Health Organisation , and the scaling down of nuclear weaponry . 

So our question is this .  Are you saying that one must read the said statement and interpret it as meaning the opposite of what it asserts at face value ?  Or have we been reading the wrong statement ?  

If you could let us know as soon as possible  I would be most grateful . The lads at the Sky Reply have been reading the damn thing carefully , and they are starting  to think that it is the most sensible statement by world leaders they have heard in a long time .  If I don't nip this in the bud quickly they might become socialists . 

   That would certainly see them lose all credibility at the Kooralya Workers Cooperative  , and possibly their membership .

Dear Andy , 

                      After following your cutting edge journalism through the years , we can see that you are crying out for help .  What in God's name were you thinking when you complained that artistic folk are inclined to have socialist tendencies ?   That has been the case for thousands of years , in art , literature , music and for that matter , science .  ( Science being another outlet for creativity . )    

You do yourself no favours by appearing to have only recently noticed this correlation between creativity , intelligence , and leftist political views .  The physicist Albert Einstein was a socialist , as was the artist Pablo Picasso ,  the author George Orwell , the musician John Lennon , the actor Charlie Chaplin , the comedian Ricky Gervais , the biologist Richard Dawkins ... and on and on .....and on .  Even Jesus Christ was a socialist . 

To say that you have only just come to this realization makes you appear  ill - informed Andy .   And worse still , you then started banging on about art and politics , complaining that art has become too political .  

But Andy ,  art has always been used to make political statements . From the days of the Pharaohs through the ages of the Greeks and Romans ,  to sailor's sea shanties , to Turner's painting " The Slave Ship " , to Negro jazz and blues  , to  Picasso's " Guernica " to George Orwell's " Animal Farm " to Andy Warhol's " Electric Chair " to the stand up comedy of George Carlin and the music of Pink Floyd the arts have  always been used to make political statements .  That is unlikely to ever change , and it would be a sign of horrendous repression if it did . 

 Anyway Andy , none of us is perfect , so we will let this one slip through to the keeper . But it might be wise to change tack with your show , and stop it from becoming a bitch session for the stupid and the uninformed .    A man of your brilliance deserves a more erudite fan base .

 Ken junior reckons you should monitor the comments that are posted beneath your presentations .  He reckons that as you lift your game you should look for a decrease in the number of comments by folk who can't spell,  and " shout "  using capital letters . ARE YOU WITH ME SON ?

Reference :- The matron of Sky News , Peta Credlin , pointed her boney finger at the double standards of the green left .

Reference :-  Peta Credlin gave us her views concerning anonymous political donations .  I think . 

Dear Peta , 

                         It certainly is pretty rich for independent candidate   ( or greenie leftist if you prefer ) Jo Dyer to say that donations to politicians should be transparent .  The greenie leftists were quick to condemn Attorney General ( now former Attorney General )  Christian Porter for not disclosing where he received a one million quid donation , yet you tell us Jo Dyer has herself received anonymous donations via the funding platform GoFundMe  .

Well fund me dead , such hypocrisy is a disgrace .  Obviously there is no practical difference between a one off donation of one million quid or small donations by thousands of supporters that total 70,000 quid . It's the principal that matters .  

In fact , if one was cynical enough to believe that the source of the one million quid donation would expect favours in return , think how much worse it would be for thousands of small donors to expect favours in return .  I mean Peta , where does that leave the whole concept of democracy ? 

 It's a shame that so few viewers watched your presentation .  These days young Rita Panahi appears to be stealing your audience .  But take heart , if Mr Morrison can win back his popularity so can you .  All you need is faith . As the Prime Minister said after winning the last "unwinnable " election ..... " I believe in miracles " .  

Of course , out here in Kooralya  none of us is a member of a tax deductible cult .   Nevertheless we believe that in the end , prayers or not , we all receive what we deserve .

Dear Mr Morrison , Sir , 

                                             It sure saddens me to watch you cop all this flak calling you an appalling bullshit artist . Everybody knows that the leader of a country can't always tell the truth . The great unwashed can't handle the truth .   Neither  can the leaders of other countries , nor your own ministers nor your own deputy .  You do them a favour when you shield them from the truth . 

The downside is that there are a surfeit of ingrates willing to come forward to attest to your smirking dishonesty .   In fact practically everybody is willing to so attest .   You will have noticed that Defense  Minister Peter Dutton has remained loyal , at least when interviewed .  But beware , I fear he may be holding his cards close to his chest while secretly planning insurrection .  Methinks he protests too much when accused of coveting your job .  

Anyway Mr Morrison , here at the Sky Reply we have been searching for folk who are prepared to publicly state that they believe you to be trustworthy .   It has taken time  , but old Harry who lives on the edge of town has always been willing to swear anything on a Bible in return for a carton of XXXX tallies .  I took the liberty of asking him whether he would be prepared to swear on a Bible that he believed somebody was trustworthy . 

"  That'll cost you a carton of tallies.  Who are we talking about ?  ",  old Harry said . 

"  Scott Morrison . " ,  I said . 

" That will cost you 6 cartons and a bottle of rum  .....make it a 40oz bottle too. " , old Harry said . 

Well after I went to all the trouble of buying the beer and the rum , Harry reneged on the deal . 

" I have changed my mind . " ' Harry said . 

 " What for ? " , I said . 

" I have a business reputation to protect  . Nobody will believe me ever again if  I say I trust Scott Morrison . " ,  Harry said . 

As you well know Mr Morrison ,  everybody has their price . I am not in a financial position to pay Harry more , what with the way the climate and the pandemic have diminished my net equity and all .  But rumour has it that you are all cashed up , so you  may be able to rescue the deal .  I reckon if you make him an offer he can't refuse , and remind him that he will be on national television he will even say that he thinks your spiritual guide  and Hillsong Pastor , Brian Houston  ( currently stood down pending police investigations ) is a nice guy . 

Here's a suggestion . You could offer Harry a handsome sum out of the promised bush fire , drought and flood  relief funds . If you tell him he will be paid when those funds are distributed , you may not have to pay him at all .  People have been waiting years for the promised relief , and Harry is not a young man , are you with me ?

Reference :- Ken junior expressed concern about the fate of our Prime Minister .

 Reference:-  For some inexplicable reason Prime Minster Scott Morrison is losing popularity in the latest polls . 

At first I misunderstood Ken junior when he told me he was worried about the polls . 

" Don't tell me Poland has become involved with the crisis in the Ukraine . " , I said . 

 " I mean Scomo's popularity . " , Ken junior said . 

  " Don't worry about him . He is all cashed up . He can buy all the votes he needs . " , I said . 

  And sure enough today he announced that he will be  giving a  payment of 800 quid to the aged care workers who have struggled so hard during the pandemic . 

 " That's about 75 cents per day for each worker through the duration of the pandemic . It's an insult . " , Ken junior said . 

 " Yeah , but notice how Scomo keeps quoting the total figure of  over 200 million dollars . That sounds impressive . ", I said . 

" That's one cup of coffee per annum from each of us to thank them for caring for the aged .  Not much of a tip is it ?  Especially if you are on 22 quid an hour and haven't had a pay rise since pussy was a kitten . " , Ken junior said . 

" And I reckon aged care workers are quitting so fast that by the time the cheques get posted ...   especially if they are as slow off the printer as the ones for fire , flood and drought relief ... there won't be many of them left to claim one . " ,  Gabbo said .

" At least you can always rely on the  LNP   to keep costs down . " , I said .
