Dear Douglas , 

                          You have wisely manage to avoid the limelight since your credibilty was destroyed by that comedian chap , Dave Smith , on the Joe Rogan show . (At least  , I assume your absence  from the limelight has been intentional .)   Sadly , just as your humiliation was becoming forgotten , something else has emerged to sully your reputation .  Following it's revelation , everybody is gossiping about the 2014 speech you wrote for the Israeli Ambassador to the UN Security Council .  

It goes without saying that it is strongly pro-Israel , and why not ?   Apparently it also includes strong derogatory comments about European Muslims  .  And that is what the current scuttlebutt is all about . 

Personally , I reckon you are entitled to work as a shill for any rogue state you like . After all , a journalist needs  to make a few quid to feed himself .  And the speech in question was written ten years ago , long before the current genocide ... I mean war against Muslim terrorism ..... in Gaza .  I reckon the current  criticism is a storm in a teacup . 

However , you will suffer damage to your reputation for another reason .  As a supposed intellectual with an Oxbridge ... or is it Camford ? ..... accent , you have unfortunately embarrassed yourself by writing the controversial speech in disgracefully poor English . 

We are not finely educated here in Kooralya , but even though I left school at age 15 to drive tractors  , I do wince when I read that speech you wrote in 2014. 

For example :-    " It's possible I have put in more diplomatic things than needed.  But I think I have got in all the points discussed"    The syntax would be disappointing in an essay by a ten year old for whom English is a second language .   

 I only made it to grade 9 , but even I could do better . 

For example :-   " I may have overdone the diplomacy , but I believe I have included all the points we discussed " .  

 Forget about the millions  who have turned away from you already , they are never coming back . And your true supporters won't care that you have been an Israeli shill for years .   But you will lose supporters among the neocon elite for appearing to be semiliterate .   Not that I hold any prejudice against the semiliterate , but many folk do dislike those who pompously present themselves as intelligentsia , when in fact they are unable to write an elegant sentence . 

Sorry for the bad news Douglas , but feedback is important for those at the pinnacle of academic discourse.
