Reference :- Andy claims the climate activists have a hidden agendum ( or possibly several hidden agenda ) to promote socialism and live in a lawless state . Something of a contradiction , since socialist states are far from lawless . Still , the odd contradiction here and there hasn't slowed him down in the past . And he is not the only one guilty of contradiction once self interest is involved .
Bugger me dead Andy , I think you got this one the wrong way around . My head is swimming , and Ken junior just won't let up with his ranting . Ever heard of deregulation ? That means the removal of laws . Have you noticed that the so called "right " is always advising us of the need to deregulate? Forever complaining that there are too many laws limiting free enterprise. You know , stupid regulations about protecting the environment , or paying people a living wage , or protecting our health .
What was it president Reagan said ? " Government is not the solution to the problem. Government is the problem . " Well, the banking deregulation that followed brought the entire western capitalist system to the brink of collapse , pushed millions of middle class folk into poverty , and sounded the death knell of many american manufacturing cities . But that's the price of freedom , I guess. The lefties , on the other hand , favour regulations and laws . They claim laws stop big companies from exploiting us , and protect the environment . But as you say yourself , so often , where's the evidence ?
Andy , it saddens me to relate that watching Sky News has turned Ken junior into a raving leftie . He tells me I am wrong , and that sometimes big companies do push for more regulations . In fact , not just sometimes , but often . Apparently , on occasions they get into quite a flap over the urgent need for more regulations . He says this happens when they fear competition , and want laws passed to eliminate it . Or want copyright or patent legislation so they can claim sole rights to a life saving drug or a piece of DNA from which a profit can be gleaned . Or want tariffs on imports , or ludicrously misnamed " free trade agreements " that have thousands of pages of legislation to protect their profits , and give them the right to sue democratically elected governments . ( Like ours . ) . Or the right to mine in a national park .
He says big companies think laws to protect their profits are fine , but laws to protect us or the planet are overregulation
Can you answer the little smart arse Marxist for me Andy ? Once you are up to speed with all the facts , perhaps you might like to interview Ken junior on your show . He really gets my goat lately with his annoying anti -capitalism arguments , and I would derive a certain satisfaction from watching you set him straight .
Your comrade , Ken .
