Reference - Sometimes Ken junior asks a strange question .

 References :-  Ken junior's thought processes confound me . 

 A cold winter is upon us in Kooralya .    These days firewood costs more than ducted air conditioning , but we will glean another winter's worth of wood when we demolish Gabbo's old homing pigeon coop .  Everybody becomes somewhat testy in the morning chill, even Dog is not the usual enthusiastic dawn riser who greets us with tail wagging . 

We were listening to the morning news on the wireless while warming our hands on our mugs of hot tea , and broadcasters were all excited about Mr Zelenskey's  mob  having blown up 40 Russian aircraft using drones .  That cunning attack has certainly raised a few eyebrows . Possibly somebody in Russia has flipped open the lid on the nuclear Armageddon button , although many folk in the West would be too busy cheering to notice . 

Anyway , Ken junior said a strange thing . 

" Why 40 planes ?  Why is everything always 40 ?  " , Ken junior said . 

" How's that ? " , I said  

" 40 planes , 40 beheaded babies , 40 days of Lent , 40 days of precipitation on Noah's Ark ..... and 40 nights , 40  lashes as maximum punishment in the bible  , 40 years that the Israelites spent in the desert  looking for the promised land back when they had dark complexions . Seems a bit coincidental . " , Ken junior said . 

" I guess that a thousand years from now it will seem more poetic when scholars talk about the 40 planes that triggered Armageddon . "  I said  . 

"  Good point , and at least all those sets of 40 have something in common . " ,  Gabbo said . 

" What's that ? " , I said . 

" They are all made up  . " , Gabbo said . 

Well that is too much for me to process on a cold morning .  I might slip back into bed ..... I  could do with another 40 winks .
