                          As a keen researcher and intellectual , I am sure you will have watched the recent Jordan Peterson debate .  I notice that the title of the debate was changed after the event  .  Originally it was promoted as " Christian vs 20 athiests "  , but after Mr Peterson took offense during the debate because a student had the temerity to assume he was a christian ,  the title was changed to " Jordan Peterson vs 20 atheists .   "   I guess that removed the need to define what is meant by " christian " .  Although , fundamentally it didn't address the chaos in the hierarchy of presuppositions people make when they claim to believe that such a person as Jordan Peterson actually exits .  Depending , of course , on what one means when one says '"actually exists " .

Anyway Douglas  , you must be thankful that you have been evicted from the corner of the media schoolroom , and your dunce cap passed to Mr Peterson .  Without wishing to say " I told you so " , I do feel obliged to say something .  

  Weeks ago , after your breathtaking humiliation by comedian Dave Smith on that Joe Rogan Show , I advised  that your best option was to lie low , say nothing , and wait for another conservative commentator to dig their own grave with their  mouth .   Instead , you panicked and arranged rushed interviews with your supporters .  These interviews served only to damage the reputations of gentleman like Sam Harris , Konstantin Kisin et al .  Sadly , your comrades' reputations sank along with yours. You seemed to be running your own media based " Hannibal Directive " .   

As it turns out , all that destructive flapping about was unnecessary .  Mr Peterson has just unwittingly sacrificed himself , which may not have totally saved your bacon , but sure has taken the heat off you for now .    He deserves your thanks .  Let's hope he is not taken to a lunatic asylum .

Ten phases are identified as having occurred while the world moved towards labelling Israel a pariah state . 

Phase 1 . 

After the horrific Hamas attack of Oct 7 2023 ,  support for Israel was widespread  .   This phase is characterised by the statement.....

 " Israel has a right to defend itself . " 

Phase 2 

Unfortunately , as if the actual carnage of Oct 7 was not enough , exaggerated ( and false ) descriptions of 40 beheaded babies , mass rapes and the such , cast doubt on the integrity of the Israeli government . Laughably amateurish attempts to circulate fake videos justifying the destruction of a hospital by the IDF made matters worse . Simultaneously , credible reports by Israeli citizens and members of the IDF started to appear which revealed that the IDF had deliberately killed a number of it's own citizens on Oct 7 .     Many did not believe these reports .  This phase is characterised by the statement .....

 " Israel has the most moral army in the world . " . 

Phase 3 

Images started to appear on social media that showed IDF soldiers committing egregious war crimes and unthinkable atrocities .  Many folk were reluctant to acknowledge these , especially politicians who rely on Israel's support to stay in power .   This phase is characterised by the statement .....

 "  These claims, if true , are concerning , however Israeli authorities have promised a full investigation ."

Phase 4 .

International aid agencies started to report upon the huge number of innocents , mostly women and children who were being slaughtered by the IDF .   The general public was , by phase 4 , awake to the crimes of the IDF . Folk were being arrested , beaten , jailed , fired from their jobs and worse if they protested against IDF actions  .  Student protests in particular became widespread .  Despite the fact that Jewish students often helped stage these protests , this phase is characterised by the statement ....

"   Jewish students no longer feel safe on university campuses . "

Phase 5 

Demonstrations in support of Palestine continued to spread around the world , in spite of the arrests .  In many countries draconian laws were enacted that limited free speech and criminalised antisemetism . The definition of antisemetism became so broad  that the slightest objection to the ethnic cleansing of Gaza and the West Bank was tantamount to Holocaust denial . Protests by Jews who supported the Palestinian cause were given little media coverage , and the term " self -hating Jew "  began to regularly  appear . This phase is characterised by the statement ....

  "   There can be no tolerance for antisemitism ." 

 

Phase 6 

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Mr Netanyahu and former Israeli  Defense Minister , Mr Gallant .   The general public applauded this move , and demanded that the arrests be made without delay .  The mainstream media treated this as a side show , and western politicians largely ignored the warrants.  This phase is characterised by the statement ....

"  Israel has our complete support . " 

Phase 7 

Ambulance workers are filmed being murdered by the IDF , and attempts to conceal  the crime by burying the bodies along with the vehicles shock the mainstream media .  Subsequently much of the mainstream media withdraws unconditional support for Israel.  Nonetheless , politicians in the west continue to justify the actions of Mr Netanyahu's regime .  Mr Netanyahu makes empty promises of a full investigation .  The media are now unmoved by such empty promises .  The culmination of phase 7 occurred when a diplomatic mission to the West Bank was fired upon by the IDF and terrified diplomats were filmed running for their lives .  This phase is characterised by the statement ....

 " We demand a full explanation. " 

Phase 8 

The day after the appalling West Bank incident , cautiously described by western politicians as " unacceptable " , two young Jews were brutally murdered in Washington  by a lone gunman  who shouted " Free Palestine " This opened an opportunity to label the familiar chant of protestors as incitement to murder .  Attempts to apply such a label fell flat with the general public . Sickened by images of children starving to death in Gaza , the general public appeared to view the crime as inevitable under the circumstances .  This phase is characterised by the statement ...

" This tragedy did not occur in a vacuum . " 

Phase  9

Mr Netanyahu's  propaganda speech following the tragic murders in Washington enjoyed a lukewarm reception as reports and images of thousands of starving babies in Gaza continued to appear in the mainstream media .   In an attempt to quell public outrage , Mr Netanyahu allowed a ludicrously small trickle of humanitarian aid into Gaza , but this had the opposite effect ,  fueling the outrage further .    Politicians and media commentators around the world , realising that the public was turning away from them in disgust , and fearing that they could soon face a reckoning for complicity in war crimes , started winding back their support for Mr Netanyahu .  Noteworthy was the admission by popular  broadcaster Piers Morgan , once one of Israel's strongest supporters ,  who declared on air that he had been wrong all along , and that the destruction of Gaza must end .  Western leaders and media commentators started to build portfolios of evidence for use should they face indictment for abetting war crimes .  Many leaders announced that they were applying sanctions and cancelling trade deals with Israel .  Journalists who investigated these claims  found that the sanctions were of similar magnitude and efficacy to that of Mr Netanyahu's humanitarian aid effort .  This phase is characterised by the statement . 

"  Israel's blockade of humanitarian aid must end  " 

Phase 10 .    

 Western politicians continue to inform the public that after 600 days of carnage they are shocked to see images of children starving .   Nothing changes  . The world has only just entered phase 10 , and therefore it is not yet possible to choose a statement that characterises this phase .

I reckon Ken junior has done a pretty good job with all this .  The team at the Sky Reply  couldn't help wondering what statement might eventually characterise phase 10 .   A few predictions were made , and nobody could agree .    We did , however , agree that one statement will be impossible for anybody to make , especially under oath in court .

Reference :-  Israel's leader , Mr Netanyahu , is not quite as skillful with  the English language as he needs to be . 

Dear Mr Netanyahu ,   

                                     Despite growing up in the USA , you nonetheless lack a certain finesse when it comes to the use of the English language .   Certainly you appear to know that calling the ethnic cleansing of Gaza a " final solution " is unwise , what with all the connections to Nazis and the Holocaust and all .  But calling it , as you do ,  " the final phase " does still conjure Holocausty images in folk's minds . 

My advice is that you call the escalation of your ethnic cleansing project  the " end phase " of your effort to defeat Hamas and establish peace  .  I know that it sticks in your craw if you suggest that you want to save the Palestinians from further suffering , that is all too obvious . But you should practice saying that in front of a mirror until it looks sincere , it will be time well spent .

Language is important , as you well know . And speaking of language , have you noticed the change in rhetoric that is suddenly occurring in the mainstream western media ?   This is something that you must address quickly .   Luckily for you some madman ( not a Palestinian , unfortunately ) has murdered two innocent Jews in the USA  .  Just as the conflict in Gaza has largely distracted the media from what you are doing in the West bank , the murders in the USA will keep the media busy with outrage for awhile and give you breathing space to press on with the "end phase " of your project .  

Mind you , a Mangione style response to the tragedy in the USA could unfold in some quarters ,  and various nutjobs and conspiracy theorists could loudly shout " false flag " , so be prepared to play your antisemitism card ..... it's even stronger than the joker in your particular pack .

Anyway , that's enough for now .  Ken junior is working on a list of statements that illustrate the change of media sentiment towards your final .... I mean " end phase" project  .  He has even offered his opinion regarding the reason for the change .  Unfortunately he reveals that it will be a difficult change to reverse .  But one must always face a challenge with a full understanding of its complexity .

Kristi is mistaken . Habeas corpus is the opposite . It exists to prevent a country from becoming a dictatorship .

In fact , trying to flog off copies of your book anywhere right now is not a good idea .   The title alone "  On Democracies and Death Cults " is enough to make eyes roll among those of even modest intellect .  Is it really worth revealing yourself as a racist bigot just for the few shekels you might glean from selling a propaganda booklet . A booklet so full of fibs that you would never dare to defend it in a discussion with anybody who has followed the history of the Middle East .    Norman Finkelstein , for example .     Footnote :-   If you ever did accidentally end up debating him , despite your persistent refusal,  whatever you do don't call him a Holocaust denier again .  He regularly refers to the fact that his Jewish parents miraculously survived the Holocaust .  Calling him a Holocaust denier again would smirch your reputation still further .... if that is possible .

So Douglas , my point is this . Do you think you could write a book that endeavours to create harmony in the world rather than division ?  Calling any society that doesn't run a fake democracy a death cult is no way to foster peace  .  Write a book that promotes peaceful cooperation , feign a little humility and self deprecation ,  and publish it once your current state of utter disgrace has subsided somewhat  . 

Of course , you have no hope of ever reclaiming your reputation as an intellectual , that is a lost cause . But , if you are lucky , folk might stop thinking of you as a monster who applauds genocide  .  Take heart from the fact that your reputation as an intellectual was entirely undeserved , so you were lucky to enjoy it while you could . As they say .... easy come , easy go.  Move on .

Lastly , it behoves a chap to keep his hair tidy when he is going through emotional hell .  Why let the world know you are a wreck by neglecting your appearance , which so easy to maintain ?   If you are full of booze or pills (how would I know ? ) at least make sure you don't give the game away with shoddy grooming .

                                      Claiming some of the credit for the release of Edan Alexander is not a good idea  . Everybody knows that Mr Trump's team negotiated that deal without your involvement .   Edan has refused to meet you for the customary propaganda video , which is most telling .  Sadly ,the more you attempt to claim credit , the shabbier you look . 

Young Edan , who had joined the IDF , looks pretty healthy and unbattered for somebody who has been held captive in Gaza for umpteen months . The comparison with the Palestinian hostages you have released , many of whom were unable to walk , cachectic ,  sobbing and covered in bruises,  is quite noticeable .   I reckon it is better that he refuses to meet you .   Who knows, like many of the other released hostages, he might even suggest that his treatment in captivity was reasonably humane considering the circumstances ?  That would make it harder to justify your genocide .....I mean war..... in Gaza.  Oh , and the West Bank of course .  

You should make all efforts to praise Mr Trump for his success , and remain out of the spotlight on this occasion .  Have you noticed that Mr Trump just secured a deal with the Saudis to help them establish a  nuclear program without first requiring them to recognise the legitimacy of Israel ? 

That signifies a major shift in support by the USA  , which is quite a cause for concern when you are hoping to persuade them to help you destroy Iran .  You can't obliterate  Iran  alone , so you should avoid stealing credit from Mr Trump in a transparent attempt to shore up your position with the Israeli public .  (Especially those self-hating Jews , demonstrating daily and demanding your arrest . ) 

These are hard times for you Mr Netanyahu , what with declining world support for Israel , and all . But stealing credit for successes you did not help facilitate is unwise . 

Here at the Sky Reply we have started looking for successes around  the ...errr ....Palestinian question ...that you can legitimately claim as your own .   As yet we have found nothing , but will certainly fill you in when we dig something up .

                                  Well done securing a peace deal with those Houthis . They are fierce fighters , not easily intimidated , but you have succeeded in presenting the deal as a win for the US Military , rather than a capitulation .  Not much is being said about whether peace with Israel is included in the deal , which clearly indicates that Israel does not feature in the contract .  The Zionists are fairly spitting chips about being left out of the negotiations , but I think you have done the right thing Mr President . 

Those Zionists never abide by peace deals , so you could hardly be expected to be taken seriously if you approached the deal with a ranting raving Zionist as a partner . Far better to go it alone . 

I hear that Zionist , Mariam Adelson , who flicked 100 million bucks your way to help finance your election campaign feels betrayed . But honestly , she must have no idea what the cost of running a genocide is these days . You have already lost 3 fighter jets trying to defeat the Houthis .  Sure , they may have had a few miles on their odometers , and had probably been depreciated down to their residual value , but you still have to replace them at 70 million  each.  That puts you 110 million behind the 8 ball already , so she has well and truly had her money's worth .   And look what has happened to your bottom line .

The Saudis , and the Arabs generally ,  are getting very techy about Israel . Perhaps if you withdraw support for Mr Netanyahu , who shows you no respect  ( that liar ) , the Saudis and Co might be more inclined to defend the dominance of the Petrodollar ? "

Anyway , I don't pretend to be an expert in geopolitics like that young Douglas Murray chap with the fake accent and an undergraduate degree in the love life of Oscar Wilde .   But you don't need to be an expert to realize that gifting unlimited support to a lying criminal ( both domestic and international ) so that he can wage a genocide is unlikely to win a bloke many friends .

                                       That was a great idea , showing your respect for the dead by posting an image of yourself dressed as the deceased .   You may have started a new fad .   The plebs , especially the ones who flaunt their percipience by wearing MAGA baseball caps and T shirts and strapping little boxes to their ears , are sure to start emulating you .    Doubtless people will soon be arriving at funerals dressed as their dead friend or relative .  

As one of the world's most admired social influencers ,  have you considered impersonating leaders who have not yet expired ?   You have just won the hearts of 1.4 billion Catholics around the globe with your tasteful tribute , why not masquerade as the Ayatolla Khamenei  ?  That is sure to delight 2 billion Muslims .  You could then deck yourself out in the garb of the Dalai Lama , which is guaranteed to enchant 500 million Buddhists.    That would make you the darling of half the world's population . 

But do it as soon as possible . You are a trend setter , not a follower .

Oh , I almost forgot the Archbishop of Canterbury .   There are not as many Anglicans , but it all adds up .

 Ken junior notes that the Dalai Lama and the Ayatolla dress very humbly compared with the Christian leaders , so they should be easy to simulate .  If you decide to include the evangelicals in the USA, that would be easy too.  Just put on a 10,000 dollar suit , flaunt a 200,000 dollar watch , and post an image of yourself boarding a private Learjet with a condescending sneer .

Australia now boasts a more complex society than it could during the halcyon post -war decades .  Ken junior , recently puzzled when he encountered the term " culture wars " for the first time , has been researching the composition of Australian society .  He claims to have found that quite a few folk belong to  demographics who may have had reason to fear that Mr Dutton did not support their best interests.   He has listed them below .

I questioned Ken junior about this . 

" That's ridiculous . For starters , if you total those numbers , they come to almost twice the population of Australia . " , I said . 

" Obviously most people belong to more than one of those demographics . " , Ken junior said . 

"  Well who has ever met a non-European woman with a University degree who lives in the inner city and works as a public servant ? " , I said . 

Ken junior just sighed and rolled his eyes . 

" The trouble with you is that you don't understand statistics . " , I explained 

Ken junior started to walk away . 

"   Can't talk now , I have to clean the toilet . ", Ken junior said .

  Election time debates can become tiresome , but at least we always end up with a very clean toilet .

In the broadest of terms , 1/3 of voters chose Labor , 1/3 chose the LNP , and 1/3 chose one of the minor parties or an Independent .  Most of the Independent / minor party votes went to Labor as preferences .  That gave Labor a very big win .

Those who voted for Labor or the LNP comprised two cohorts . Those who unthinkingly vote for the same party and will never change . Those who thought about the policies before making their choice . 

Those who have turned to the Independents and minor parties have mostly thought about their choice . 

Those folk would be well aware that their candidate was unlikely to be elected , and would know where the preferences would go .  Most were sending a message that they were unhappy with the major parties , but preferred Labor . 

Most folk viewed the tax cuts and the petrol excise holiday as bribes that diminished the integrity of both parties .

Most folk could not give a hoot about annoying and unnecessary " culture wars " , which only serve as a marketing tool for the media , clickbait , and a distraction from serious issues . 

This is a simple explanation  , but as Occam's Razor reveals , the simplest explanation is usually the best . 

The banks appear to be very happy with the result , judging by their forecasts for interest rates and the economy at large .

 Reference :-   Matron of Sky News , Peta Credlin , and doyen of the Murdoch empire, Andrew Bolt , have given us the benefit of their election result analyses . 

Here at the Sky Reply we felt obliged to watch the most respected of the Sky News political commentators as they presented their astute analyses of the election result . 

Some folk might view their presentations and simply dismiss them as two bitter and twisted warriors of the far right who hated watching their party lose the culture wars .  But not everybody . Others may dismiss them as two bitter and twisted warriors of the far right who hated watching their party lose the culture wars without bothering to view their presentations . 

For those who have better things to do , here is quick precis of their opinions .

Peta Credlin could be summarised as follows :- 

The Labor party told lies and bought votes with cynical cash handouts . Most people did not vote for Labor and they only won on preferences .   She admitted that the LNP should shoulder a great deal of the blame for such a catastrophic loss , especially since they had failed to fight the " culture wars " more vigorously .

Andrew Bolt could be summarised as follows :- 

 In the past , when the LNP won , young Andy Bolt was quick to say that the Australian voter can be relied upon to make the right decision  . On this occasion ,  young Andy tells us that the Australian voter made the wrong decision .  According to Andy , the LNP only lost because the voters are fools . 

Today I asked Ken junior to cast his eyes over this post before publishing it .  He had nothing  to say , except this  :-

" What are culture wars ? " , Ken junior said . 

" That is a complicated question . Disruptive battles fought in the media  over race , gender,  ethnicity , religion , social class ..... that sort of thing . " , I said. 

" Never heard of them . " , Ken junior said . 

" Well you will if Peta Credlin gets her way as she fights for the return of her beloved LNP .", I said . 

" That sounds like something the country really needs . " , Ken junior said. 

  Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit , but on this occasion I decided to let Ken junior's remark go through to the keeper .

5.   Home ownership has become impossible for most young people .  

A.  I know the policies of each party that will restore the opportunity of home ownership for millions . 

B.  I have not seen any policies that will solve the problem of home affordability . 

6.  Corruption has been identified as a growing problem at all levels of government . 

A.  I am familiar with how each party intends to deal with corruption . 

B.  I have no idea how each party intends to deal with corruption . 

7.   Immigration and rapid population growth have stretched services and overwhelmed infrastructure . 

A.  I am familiar with the plans of each party that address this issue . 

B .  I do not know of any plans each party has that will address this issue . 

And lastly , since even at election time we should not ignore a humanitarian crisis  ....

Palestinians are being slaughtered daily and deprived of humanitarian aid in blatant contravention of International Law . 

A .   I know what efforts have been made by the current Australian Government to enforce adherence to International Law , and know how these will be continued if the opposition is elected . 

B.   I have not heard of any efforts to enforce adherence to International Law
